Pedagogical Formation (Teaching Certificate Program)

Pedagogical Formation (Teaching Certificate Program)

Pedagogical formation is a program that equips students with the educational science competencies required for the teaching profession. Students of our department can take these courses at the Marmara University Faculty of Education starting from the third semester. Participation is voluntary. However, to complete the program, students must pass all of the designated courses.

Pedagogical formation courses appear on the student's transcript as pedagogical formation courses and are included in the graduation grade point average. For students who complete the program, the statement "Has completed pedagogical formation education." is written on the back of the diploma. For graduates who did not take pedagogical formation during their studies, the Pedagogical Formation Certificate Program for graduates continues to be offered.

The field of hair and beauty has a strong educational dimension by its very nature. Throughout their careers, graduates frequently take on teaching roles such as training apprentices and course trainees, delivering brand and product training, and serving as instructors in certified courses. Pedagogical formation turns expertise in the field into effective teaching skill. It does so by building educational science competencies such as instructional methods, measurement and evaluation, classroom management, and guidance.

For this reason, pedagogical formation offers a significant advantage to students who wish to pursue teaching or training careers. Graduates with teaching competence can provide higher quality instruction both in formal education and in private courses and certificate programs. They also have a stronger foundation for moving into an academic career. Pedagogical formation further contributes to the professionalization and institutionalization of the field through education.

The courses included in pedagogical formation education are listed below. In the table, T stands for theory hours, P for practice hours, and C for credits. The courses total 40 ECTS.
